This is not grown commercially in NZ but is a great additive in bouquets if you have access to it.
"Magnificence & Beauty."Calla lilies are a late summer flower and usually available from January to April (sometimes December), currently approx. $7 a bloom retail. They come in pinks, almost black, and white.
"Dignity". First discovered by Europeans in the gardens of the Aztec people in Mexico. Becoming more popular. Bruise easily but come in lots of colours and have a good size floral head Available in summer from January to March.
GYPSOPHILA OR BABY’S BREATH
Depending on the time of year, gypsophila is not a cheap flower, particularly late March early April, and before Christmas when supply is reduced. Very vintage but ask your florist about price first. Almost all year round
"Heartfelt emotion." Come in pinks, blue/lavender, white and in late summer red, green, antique.
Available summer. These lilies look like a long trumpet. Mostly available January/ Feb
Queen Anne Lace
Delicate & pretty flower belonging to the carrot family. It was named after Queen Anne of England 1665 who pricked her finger causing a drop of blood to fall on the lace she was working on.

ROSES – DAVID AUSTIN
David Austin roses are awesome. They have a bigger head than ordinary roses and are known for their perfume although commercial roses don't have quite the same strength of smell. Twice the price of ordinary roses. Available in 3 colours - buttery cream, peach and mid pink. All year round
Singapore orchids come on a stem with multiple blooms almost all year round. They are great in corsages and boutonnaires. Yes, they are imported from Singapore and on the odd occasion are ruined in the fumigation process, fortunately not often. (Unavailable late December early January)
Come in a variety of colours - pinks, white, coral, yellow. Readily available in Spring, Summer and Autumn. Also called Antirrihinums. A great value flower.
Native to New Zealand in summer - grows wild. Toi toi can look great in big arrangements such as urns. Feb/March/April/May/June/July/August
